fannish love from a flower of sin
I’m always looking to get into new manga, and there are a couple of manga titles that have caught my eye. The first one is Parasyte, a manga about alien entities taking over human hosts who later hunger for human flesh. Some aliens fail at this, like Migi who only manages to possess his host’s (Shin) left arm. Shin becomes a target of other hosts and tries to figure out if there is a way to put a stop to what’s happening around him. I know alien possession is a concept that’s been done before, but this one is fun to me since it’s basically guro-lite. And we get such humourous images as this one. Honestly, what’s not to like?
Another title that I’ve started reading is King of Thorn. It’s a story that revolves around the infected survivors of a deadly viral plague. A certain portion of people infected with a virus called Medusa, that causes cells to solidify resulting in death, were placed in suspended animation until a cure could be found. A few of them later woke to find a world that had been overtaken by strange creatures. The group must find a way to survive in their new landscape even as the Medusa virus threatens to claim them. I’m really interested to see how this one pans out.
